Animals Around the World

Today we had a very fun and exciting time getting to learn about some very interesting animals. These animals we learned are from all over the world and although they are cute, and fun to look at, would not be the best house pets. We learned a variety of interesting facts about a chinchilla, tortoise, snake, peacock, alligator, and a snake. We learned about where these animals come from, what they eat, how they live, and who their predators are. Not only did we get to see these animals, but some of our friends got to get up close and touch them! Everyone had a chance to pet the snake on our way our of the assembly. Take a peak into our fun learning experience below!

Mrs. Quist got to pet a chinchilla. We learned that it has fur that is so soft that when a predator goes to bite it, it cannot feel the fur in its mouth so it doesn't know when to bite down, which helps to keep it safe.

Brooklyn had the opportunity to help reveal a beautiful peacock. She was also able to pet it! We learned that when a peacock is frightened, it gives a warning call that sounds like it is saying ¨HELP!¨

Cameron was able to get up close and listen to the growls of a Patagonian Mara. We learned that this rodent could jump as high as the exit sign above our doors!

Above is a peak at the other animals we were able to see! The crowd erupted with excitement when the python came out! Almost everyone was very excited to learn about the snake and have the opportunity to touch her when we left! Take a look below:
