Holiday Book Exchange

Hi there firstie families!! To help us celebrate the holidays in class, we will be doing a class book exchange! Each child should bring in one wrapped paperback book by Tuesday, December 20th.

Book Guidelines

* The book should be new, paperback, and around $3.00. Please do not send hardback books! You can use our Scholastic Class Code: MCVDY and order by the 12th with guaranteed delivery in time for our book exchange!

* Please be sure the book is suitable for a boy or a girl (non-gender specific).

* Please help your child wrap the book with wrapping paper. No gift bags please…Half of the fun is the unwrapping our new books!

* Please have your child write their name next to From: on the gift tag sent home today. (For Example: To: My Friend From: Jennifer)

* Each child will receive a new book to keep. You may want to remind your child that the book they bring in, will not be the book they take home.

* If you are unable to purchase a book, please let me know. It would be best to know by the beginning of that week (by the 19th) so that I can bring in some wrapped books and have your child put their name on them!

We will be participating in this fun activity with Mrs. Powell's class! Who doesn't love getting a new book? Your little firstie will have a perfect activity to begin their Christmas Break!

We are still collecting money for Project Christmas! Thank you to all of the families who have sent in spare change and donated money to this important cause! We are hoping to raise enough money to with that class pizza party or extra recess! How FuN!

We are super excited for our Christmas concert this evening and have been working hard for weeks getting ready! Our rehearsal went very well this morning and I am so excited to see it tonight with all of our friends dressed in their festive reds and greens! Our classroom elf even wrote in his letter this afternoon that he followed our bus to the auditorium and watched us rehearse and then beat us back to class without anyone seeing him....he is super sneaky! He told us he would be back again tonight so we are pretty excited and are wondering if he will be in hiding or if we will be able to find him!

Thanks so much and Season’s Greetings!
