What an exciting opportunity we have for you. As you have been noticing, we have been sending flyers home frequently as reminders to sign up for our summer reading program. I am SUPER excited about the opportunity CAPS is offering to all students currently in grades K-3rd. All CAPS students in these grade levels are being offered the opportunity to READ all summer long!!! Every time your child reads a book they earn a chance to win a free Kindle!!!

We want you to strongly consider participating throughout the summer, offering an opportunity for your child to read frequently throughout the summer and help decrees that 'Summer Slide.' There are only a few important dates to keep in mind and attend during the summer for a BOOK SWAP. Each time your child shops for / swaps out their books, they will bring home 8-10 new books in their interest areas as well as some great activities for ways to think about the text they have read.

If signed up, your child will have the opportunity to shop for books the last full week of school. They will take their books home and can read them as many times as they want (remembering to fill out a postcard for each book). Students will have an opportunity to SWAP books once in June, once in July and once again in August. Students will then have the first week of school in the Fall to return their books.

There will be a ton of opportunities for your child to read all summer - riding in the car to the beach, outside on a sunny day, at night before bed, on your way to vacation, reading to a babysitter, a sibling, grandparent or stuffed animal, etc.

Why not be rewarded for your hard work reading?!?!
